Checking In and Out of the Agency

The easiest way to tell whether an actor is a seasoned professional  lies in how he or she handles their business.

Non professionals always blame others for their results.  It’s  their agent, their manager and a list too long for me to include here.

Professional s advise their agency of the date(s) that they are going be unavailable not once but several times prior to leaving.  This practice include half days as well.  When professionals return, get settled, the first thing they do is contact the agency to let the agency know they are now available for work.

If they do not hear from their agency for some time rarely do professionals get” Pissed”. Professionals contact the Agency either by phone mostly email!
Amateurs get pissed and most often they never call or email the agency.  They sit home and conjure up something to complain about.  In general actors spend too much time complaining, gripping, self thoathing, criticizing, and the W word worrying.  And there is no shortage of teachers, managersfamily members and so called industry professionals willing to engage in the madness with you.  Cut it out!

Agents most often have so much to do during the day they do not welcome telephone calls.

As for me, I like my clients to check in with me preferably via email.  It’s so important that you stay Connected.  I like it when I get emails that say I am available.  Its remind me to focus on that person even more.  The actor is eager to work!

Also I enjoy reading what actors are on doing on their own behalf.  It’s exciting and sometime it adds to my do list.

It’s your business check in and out as needed.  Follow us on social media.  Stay Connected!!!!!!
